SWOOP TO CONQUER INJURED AT WETHERBY
Swoop To Conquer sadly suffered a career threatening injury at Wetherby on Friday. He broke down badly just after halfway and although The Vets and Nicky Henderson’s dedicated staff made him as comfortable as possible but his chances of returning to racing would seem unlikely.
On a brighter note Nicky Henderson continues to give favourable reports of our unraced 4 year old No Hiding Place and his racecourse debut is not far away – watch this space………
Fields Of Fortune is ready to make his seasonal debut and Richard Hannon has made an entry at Windsor on Monday.
Swoop To Conquer was a disappointment at Doncaster on Thursday 9th February where he was pulled up after 4 out. He jumped and travelled well early on, but the ground was rather tacky and he was struggling. Nicky Henderson will have him thoroughly checked out.
Nicky Henderson is running Swoop To Conquer at Doncaster Thursday 9th Feb in a handicap hurdle. The track and distance of 3 miles should suit him well and is a qualifier for a £50,000 hurdle at Haydock on April 15th. Nico de Boinville takes the ride and it is good to see him back in action.
Swoop To Conquer will not run at Sandown on Saturday 4th February due to soft/heavy ground on the hurdle track. Nicky Henderson has made further entries for him next week at Market Rasen on Tuesday 7th February, race time 3.25pm in a 2 mile 4 furlong Handicap Hurdle and Doncaster Thursday 9th February in a 3 mile Handicap Hurdle race time 3.30.
SWOOP TO CONQUER IS ENTERED FOR SANDOWN ON 4TH FEBRUARY
Swoop To Conquer did not run at Huntingdon on Friday January 27th due to the frost staying harder and longer than anticipated and in fact the meeting was called off. Nicky Henderson has made an entry for him in a 2 mile 4 furlong Novice Handicap Hurdle at Sandown on 4th February where we will be hoping for suitable ground.
SWOOP TO CONQUER holds an engagement at Wincanton on Thursday 19 Jan, but is highly unlikely to take this up. Nicky Henderson feels the ground will be unsuitable and he will look for other options.
SWOOP TO CONQUER DOES BEST AT FINISH
Swoop To Conquer ran on to finish 6th of 16 at Huntingdon on Sunday December 4th. A pleasing performance and he needs further.
SWOOP TO CONQUER MAKES PROMISING DEBUT OVER HURDLES AT EXETER
Swoop To Conquer ran well on his hurdling debut at Exeter on November 1st to finish second behind a Paul Nicholls’ hotpot and was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths. Nicky Henderson will not rush him, but he will be exciting when put over an extended distance, both over hurdles and in the long term future when he tackles fences.
