NOBLE MASQUERADE & WILLIAM BUICK RENEW THEIR LOVE AFFAIR AT WINDSOR
William Buick has plenty on his mind to think about this week with Saturday’s 2,000 Guineas looming, when he rides the favourite Native Trail. However, he was delighted with the performance of Noble Masquerade (pictured winning with William Buick) at Windsor on Monday evening, where the race was run to suit and he came very strong in the last furlong to win in good style. The Racing Post comments say “He should be competitive in plenty of decent handicaps this season”
William Buick, the Champion Jockey elect, has won three times on Noble Masquerade and he definitely has a soft spot for him.
We were very pleased that Owners, namely Brenda Fenton and other associates, were there to witness this victory and put Eve Johnson Houghton’s Woodway Team back on the Winners score sheet. The handicapper will have his say after this result, but our Noble son of Sir Percy appreciated getting his toe in after a heavy shower before racing and that could well dictate future plans.
